It's time to take it off the wall!

I’m done with this painting, at least as far as I want to take it. Am I happy with it? Not really. It’s okay, but it doesn’t light me up, and you may feel the same way. I’m fine with that. Not every painting is going to be a masterpiece.

Looking at my version side by side with Van Gogh’s is interesting. My biggest disappointment is the olive tree. For me, that’s where the painting falls apart. I never got the colors, shape, or brushwork to land the way they needed to, and I don’t think there was an easy fix once it went off track. The rest of the painting is fairly solid, but I keep coming back to that tree. Overall, I’d give this one a five out of ten.

Of course, Van Gogh is on the left! ;)
