Abstract Expressionism

Here is a comment I received recently from an art-critic that critiqued my paintings:
Robert’s paintings work in the lineage of action painting, but their strongest examples move beyond homage through luminous, spatial underpainting and a disciplined palette intelligence that gives the surfaces both atmospheric depth and contemporary resonance.
His paintings also translate especially well in commercial and residential settings because of his careful attention to color relationships and palette selection. While rooted in the energy of postwar abstraction, Robert’s work feels current, with color harmonies that align naturally with today’s interiors and visual sensibilities. The result is work that feels alive, dynamic, and visually relevant in contemporary spaces.
