Gouache is the wave of the future for me?

I have a love/hate relationship with the word "arsenal". Because it implies guns I scratch my head when the word is used this way. But the new medium to me may be the ticket I have been looking for.

Consider it this way: liquid pastel painting.

It goes on with a brush (easy), does not create dust like pastel (safe), does not need to be shown under glass (nice!), has the same amount of pigment as oil paints (woohoo!), does not color shift like acrylic (yuk), cleans up easily, can be re-opened and modified on the painting, etc., etc., etc. The list goes on.

Here is my first attempt at a Gouache painting. A simple grass scene. No fuss, no muss style of an easy painting. I really like some of the color I got out of it! What do you think?
