Vacation and flying to far off places!

After a solid six weeks of intense 60-hour work weeks, I'm finally grabbing a well-deserved break! My "to-do" list around the house is calling – just some of those little things that tend to pile up.

On the work front, the software absolutely nailed it last month – zero issues! We even weathered a power outage caused by a local accident, and the systems performed flawlessly. Our UPS backup kept the server humming for a full 90 minutes, giving me plenty of time to get in and manage the recovery of workstations and the server. It was a team effort to get everyone back online, and I was really pleased with how smoothly everything went. My updated server recovery documentation definitely proved its worth!

Speaking of breaks, I'm excited to finally dive into some flight simming! I'll be starting my training on the Toliss Airbus A330-900 in X-Plane 12. Having shifted to Apple for my sim setup, the A330 caught my eye, especially because this version features a HUD – definitely adds to the "cool factor"!

I hope you're all doing great! Thanks for reading. Now, where to fly first? How about a hop from KRIC to KIAD to kick off my ambitious 92,744 nautical mile, 170-airport world tour? Stay tuned!
