What? Did you say Watercolor pencils?

Writer: Robert HopkinsRobert Hopkins

Yup. I'm gonna give them a go. Bought myself a full set (120) of the Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer Watercolor Pencils.

I was looking at the art work of Arie Jekel (below) and I am seeing some marks in there that cannot be done with just brushes. He may be using markers too. But, I thought I would give these pencils a try first. It looks like the grass on the right hand side is the side of a colored pencil's marks. I'm not sure, but all I know is having these pencils will be better than just doing simple black line/washes. The black lines look old after you view any image for more than 5 seconds. Arie's marks still look fresh every time I look at his paintings. I hope these new pencils will help me get more diversity in my paintings. Pseudo pastels!
