A Default Palette

Below, is the default palette that Kathleen has at the start of every painting.


The reason I'm making this post is two-fold. These are the from-the-tube colors and their compliments, So critical to getting your artwork to look life-like and not overly saturated. And, my monitor's settings to get this image.


I set my iMac's monitor to 50% brightness for this screen print, from her video. Use this image to get your palette set perfectly!


Notice the mixed Violet, Green, and Blacks. Critical to toning down the primary colors. Landscape paintings require more grayed down colors than most artist's paint. That's why they look amateurist. Myself included!
