I feel so bad...

I either caught a throat virus or have strep throat. My temperature has been swinging back and forth from 99.6° to 101° the last two days. My sleep is messed up too. I came home from work, after being there for four hours trainings users on Monday, to fall asleep for an hour-and-a-half. I see Urgent Care today at 1:30. Dr. Guminsky no longer sees patients when they are sick. Sigh... I just now started taking Advil and Tylenol because the pain is just to much to bear (2:42am). I'm hoping it will knock the pain down enough so that I can go back to sleep.

I didn't see this coming. But, I shouldn't be surprised. I have been having to be so "up" training the users and helping them to cope with the new software changes. It's stressful for them and I internalize their stress. As I write this, I caught myself falling asleep at the keyboard. I'm gonna go back to bed.

**Update: I went to Williamsburg Urgent Care on Tuesday, and they tested me for both COVID and the flu. The flu came back positive. Per doctor’s orders, I can’t return to work until I’ve been fever-free for 24 hours. As of tonight, my temperature is still hovering around 99°, so I’ll need to stay home again tomorrow.

Unfortunately, another team member also came down sick this week—likely from me, since we were in meetings together late last week. I feel terrible about that. We had been working closely with outside consultants and an architect on the new building layout, so it’s possible one of them was the original source.

Despite my absence, things are running smoothly. A couple of my super-sharp trainees have stepped up and have been training other users this week—covering for me brilliantly. I definitely owe them something special to show my appreciation. 💜
