I know I'm beating a dead horse with a stick...

Check out the gif below! I come across this image on various forums around the Internet, and every time I see it, I can’t help but laugh. Is it a bit gruesome? Sure. Is it old-school humor? Definitely! And while the dead horse part might be a bit much, you have to admit— the guy waving the stick is pretty funny!

On a different note, I recently installed a TV next to my easel. This makes it so much easier to compare my large-format paintings (which I prefer) with my reference material. I realized I really needed this setup after working on my three Monet Lilly Pad paintings. I used the Giclee prints I bought from Amazon as references, and it was so much simpler to paint using a one-to-one ratio with the larger prints instead of trying to work from a tiny iPad. That was throwing me off completely!

Another Van Gogh is "on-deck" to be painted next after this one is finished. I used AI to create a sample Van Gogh landscape that I can use as a reference image. Copyright free!
